Healthfirst Injection Code Pre-Authorization Resolved

Healthfirst has agreed to remove pre-authorization for injection codes effective July1, 2015. In the interim, Healthfirst has agreed to provide immediate pre-authorization of these injection codes used mainly by orthopedists and podiatrists to inject or aspirate painful joints or bursae.

For other podiatric services that may still require pre-authorization, the function has been delegated by Healthfirst to OrthoNet, also effective July 1, 2015. A complete list of those  Podiatric Service Codes is attached. For additional information, please go to:
