Board of Trustees Meeting Recap

Your officers met Tuesday, August 9 and the full Board of Trustees met Wednesday, August 10 at the NY College of Podiatric Medicine. Complete minutes of past Trustee meetings are available on the website in the General Document section of myNYSPMA.   Here are some highlights from our August meetings:

Women in Podiatry Special Interest Group - A motion was approved to develop a special interest group for women member DPMs, students and residents.  The purpose of the group is to establish relationships and engage in interactive discussion among peers to address professional challenges and goals for women within the Association and the profession.  Information on the group and the development of a steering committee are underway.

Corporate Membership Program  - A motion was approved to initiate a corporate membership program
to engage our supplier community in broader promotion of their goods and services through the website, our social media,  electronic/print communication and educational webinars. Information is being developed now.

Website Advertising – A motion was approved to formalize an advertising campaign for the website and social media. The campaign will include an enhancement to the website to make it automatically reformat to be more easily viewable on all devices regardless of size, browser or provider.

House of Delegates Host Hotel – The House of Delegates Location Task Force presented five possible locations to host the 2018 House of Delegates. The Otesaga is unavailable for our 2018 dates. Based on Trustee feedback, the task force will be bringing a final recommendation to the Trustees for approval. Contact Sarah Hansen, sarah@nyspma.org

Membership Report – Through the first quarter of the 2016-2017 fiscal year, the Association has 1099 professional members and 297 matriculated student members. Contact Lori Sales Cutler, lsales@nyspma.org.
