Workers Compensation Board Adjusts Fee Schedule

The NY State Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) has announced fee schedule changes for podiatrists retroactive to 02/17/2014. This change is a result of your NYSPMA working with the Board on behalf of the membership.   

The changes have been posted to the WCB website at www.wcb.ny.gov. In addition, there is a separate list of the additional codes podiatrists will be allowed to bill posted under the Medical Fee Section of the website. 

Podiatrist who had bills denied based on scope of practice or the codes billed were not present in the podiatry portion of the fee schedule have until October 14, 2016 to resubmit the bills and narrative report to the carrier/payer for reimbursement. Podiatrists should also be submitting the bill and report to the WCB at the same time they submit to the carrier so an administrative award can be created in the event the carrier fails to pay or respond.
