On January 9, 2024, the Ohio Department of Aging announced the second tranche of funding, totaling $6 million,  to expand Adult Day services in Ohio.

LeadingAge Ohio has been awarded a grant from ODA to offer technical assistance support to successful applicants.

The application deadline is February 2, 2024.

Who may apply for funds?

  • Qualified organizations seeking to become adult day service providers.
  • Existing adult day service providers seeking to expand their service. 

What can funds be used for?

New adult day service providers or those re-entering the market:

  • Equipment
  • Supplies
  • Start-up fees
  • Infrastructure modifications required for initial operations

Existing adult day service providers:

  • Enhanced delivery by adding new benefits not previously offered
  • Support for long -term sustainment in the industry, such as
    • equipment or facility upgrades to accommodate a larger capacity served,
    • technology implementation, and
    • other efficiency efforts.

Providers can also use funds to recruit and retain a qualified workforce – including through means such as offering current staff a retention bonus, offering new staff a hiring bonus, hiring new direct care workers, and recruiting new direct care workers.
